Lecture 5- Anthropocene

This lecture was the one I wanted to base my editorial on before I’d even had the lecture, as I feel strongly about the world and what we as humans are doing to damage it.

Why should we care about Climate change? we should care about climate change because it is affecting our species, animals and a clean environment is essential for healthy living for not just animals but also ourselves.

We need to think about the amount of plastic we are using and where its going, aswell as what it is causing which is Ocean pollution. There are many different campaigns and videos out there which are spreading awareness about the affects of climate change and the use of plastic. One example of this is a video ‘Steve Cutts Man (2012) which is trying to spread awareness on what we are doing to animals and our planet, which I feel needs to be watched by everyone to really be able to make a difference. Many different campaigns have also been created for this same reason because its becoming a serious issue that we all need to think about repeatedly.

An example of this was shown in the presentation by Home of the Millican Bags which incorporates recycled materials such as plastic bottles and also Wornwear.

I definitely would like to base my editorial on the Anthropocene as I feel strongly about this topic as I’m worried about the future of our planet and would like to raise awareness about this. I really enjoyed this presentation by Fred Hubble and learning more about this.
